Zirconia is a strong, metal-free ceramic that closely mimics the natural translucency of tooth enamel. It's our go-to recommendation when appearance matters most — front teeth especially — while still holding up well under normal chewing force.

- Strength: Very high, resistant to chipping and cracking
- Appearance: Excellent — blends closely with natural teeth
PFM Crown (Porcelain Fused to Metal)
PFM crowns combine a metal base for strength with a porcelain outer layer for a tooth-like appearance. They've been a trusted, reliable option for decades and remain a solid mid-range choice, especially for molars that take heavy chewing load.
- Best for: Back teeth needing a balance of strength and appearance
- Strength: Very durable, thanks to the metal core
- Appearance: Good, though a thin metal line can sometimes show at the gumline over time
Gold Crown
Gold crowns are among the most durable restorations in dentistry. They wear at almost the same rate as natural enamel, meaning they're gentle on the opposing teeth they bite against — an underrated advantage for long-term oral health.
- Best for: Back molars where appearance is not the priority
- Strength: Outstanding — among the most durable materials available
- Appearance: Metallic gold colour, visible if the tooth shows when you smile
